**What Do I Need to Know About Wooden Wicks? Why Are They Unique?**
When lighting a wooden wick you MUST light it all the way across to allow the wood to catch a good strong flame! Due to our unique double wicking, we strongly encourage you to use an electrical lighter or reach lighter. You’ll have to hold the flame to the wick for about 10/15 seconds so trying to use a regular light will result in you burning your finger.. TRUST ME ON THIS!
Wooden wicks MUST be trimmed before each new burn cycle. Trying to light a wooden wick without trimming or snapping off the burnt wood from the previous burn cycle will result in your wick extinguishing itself or not relighting at all. TRIM! TRIM! TRIM!! …*view gallery for visual reference*
Wood wicks should NOT be lit for more than FOUR hours at a time. As wood wick burns, they accumulates carbon buildup which can prevent the wax from properly reaching the flame, causing the candle to sputter and eventually go out. Candles/wicks is nothing but pretty science, literally!
And lastly , wooden wicks are especially unique due to the soothing and relaxing sound of wood crackling. It brings even more calmness into the atmosphere. Due to our double wicking style, the crackling that comes from a Glims candle is a tad bit louder which essentially brings even more tranquility into the atmosphere.
What Is Tunneling?

What Is A Full Melt Pool? Why Is It Important
A full melt pool is when the melted wax reach all sides of the candle vessel. You’ll see that there’s little to none solidified wax left. A full melt pool is important because it keeps from candle from tunneling, which will then have a huge effect on the candles’ performance.
